We hope that you use Trustworthy for your air conditioning & heating needs but whomever you do business with, use caution. A high percentage of air conditioning & heating contractors “take advantage” of people here in the valley and yes, there is also many good as well. I respect those good companies with honest leadership and I have friends in some of those as well and they do a great job. I state the above merely as a warning to be careful and screen whomever you use. Here are a few things we recommend you do.

Try to get a referral from a trusted friend
Do they have references – see our testimony page
Check to make sure they have a business license and that the license is current & if any complaints have been filed. You can do this from our link here to the Registrar Of Contractors.

When you decide on someone & they arrive at your home:

Is the company name on the truck? What they are driving & how it looks tells you something about the company.
How are they dressed (do they have a uniform with the name of the company & the technicians name?)
Were they on time (if not –did they call to let you know they would be late?)
Do they respect you & your home?
Did they fully explain the problem to your satisfaction?
Did they quote you the cost to repair up-front?

A short story about being carful...

I recently spoke with a woman that called us after she had used another contractor and "felt" something was not right. She had two components replaced on her rooftop cooling unit that cost her $623.00. She thought the cost was very high and called us to see if she was right. Our cost would have been under $165.00. She then called her bank and within one hour, the check had already been cashed! What does that tell you? Don’t let this happen to you. The example above is one of “those” companies. They did not charge normal trade price for the services rendered but rather “price gouged” the client. Let me be perfectly clear on repair pricing. Any A/C service company sets their individual pricing level based upon their individual overhead so prices will very, but there is a reasonable level and these “price gougers” go way over that.

Additionally did you know that some service companies pay their technicians on commission? The more parts replaced, the more the technician is paid. This is OK if the technician you get is honest. However, to me this system does not promote honesty but rather dishonesty. Just my opinion.

Looking at the other side, if you are “shopping” around for only “price” then many times you will usually find someone to do it for less; less quality, less warranty (if any) and, oh yes, less cost. If you are a gambler, you may get “lucky” and find a good deal. However, being a smart consumer, if the price seems too good, it probably is.

I would like you to use Trustworthy for your air conditioning & heating needs, but the whole purpose of all the above verbiage is; use someone you can trust and are comfortable with. If that’s us, great, if it’s someone else, great, just make sure they treat you right, you deserve it!
